Telesa’s Three Activities
(1) The creation of a variety of information and communication services
Bringing together the wisdom of our members, while bearing in mind policy trends and the amazing progress of information and communication technologies such as broadband, IP, and mobile, we are working to build and refine a member-participatory business model for creating and promoting new enterprise.
- Collection of requests and proposals for ICT-related budget and tax system support
- Gathering information, research activities and policy proposals on systems and policies, technology and market trends related to information and communications in Japan and overseas
- Investigative research activities and policy proposals on technology and market trends related to IP and next-generation networks
- Investigative research activities and policy proposals on ethics and other problems in network services
- Investigative research activities and policy proposals regarding extraction of issues and consideration of solutions for MVNO
- Investigative research activities and policy proposals regarding extraction of issues and consideration of solutions regarding FVNO
- Investigative research activities and policy proposals on advanced case studies of local ICT business and ICT promotion measures
- Member business fact-finding and analysis activities
(2) The development of a sound competitive market
Within the free information and communications market created by deregulation, we contribute to the implementation of a fair competitive market through the following initiatives:
- Policy recommendations for ensuring fair competition
- Investigation of trading conditions in the information and communications market
- Petition for administrative relief measures and proposals to business operators
- Individual consultations regarding unfair trading and operation of a dispute resolution fund
- Ongoing talks with infrastructure operators on improving business conditions
(3) The realization of a safe and secure network society
Although ICT, such as the internet, represents essential infrastructure for society, it has also given rise to new issues such as crimes that abuse the anonymity it provides. We are working to realize a safe and secure network society.
- Creation and publication of guidelines on the Provider Liability Limitation Act (Council Office)
- Dealing with illegal and harmful information on the Internet (Council Office)
- Creation and publication of display guidelines for telecommunications service advertisements (Council Office)
- Participation in “E-net caravan” activities promoting the safe use of the internet
- Participation in the safety and security mark system for internet connection services
